ASSAS has started!

The European project ASSAS (Artificial intelligence for the Simulation of Severe AccidentS) has now been officially launched!
The 14 partners and representatives of consultative instances gathered in Aix-en-Provence at the end of November for the kick-off meeting of the project.
The initial ASTEC (Accident Source Term Evaluation Code) training taking place next week in Aix-en-Provence will be the first milestone of the project. It will help data scientists and severe accident specialists to know the numerical structure of IRSN‘s severe accident code better, to start exploring machine-learning strategies to increase its performances.

ASTEC initial training for ASSAS participants is complete!

The first milestone of the ASSAS project has been fulfilled: partners have been trained on ASTEC, IRSN’s severe accident code. This is the first step towards the development of machine-learning models to speed-up ASTEC’s calculations and the design of the prototype severe accident simulator.
Many thanks to the ASTEC developers team from IRSN, who made great efforts to present the numerical structure and data management of the code.
Many thanks also to trainees, who actively participated in this intensive session. Our thoughts go to our Ukrainian partners who were compelled to follow the presentations with videoconference.
